Run Flat Tyres

Say goodbye to the spare in the boot.

What are run flat tyres?

Run-flat tyres are designed with reinforced construction so that, following a loss of air pressure, the tyre can continue to support the vehicle for a limited distance.

This can allow you to reach a safe location or tyre specialist without immediately having to stop and change a tyre at the roadside.

Run-flat tyres are not designed to be driven indefinitely after a puncture. You should follow the tyre and vehicle manufacturer’s instructions regarding speed and distance.

How do run-flat tyres work?

Run-flat tyres use reinforced sidewalls and other construction features to support the vehicle when the tyre loses pressure.

Because a driver may not immediately feel that a tyre has lost pressure, run-flat tyres should be used with a functioning Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

If your vehicle is designed for run-flat tyres, follow the manufacturer’s recommendations when replacing them.
